I. Purpose
Consult Atlas Foundation (“the Foundation”) is firmly committed to the principles of equity, inclusion, and equal opportunity. This policy is intended to ensure that all individuals associated with the Foundation are treated with dignity and respect and are protected from discrimination in all organizational practices and activities.
II. Scope
This policy applies to all Foundation stakeholders, including but not limited to employees, job applicants, board members, officers, volunteers, contractors, vendors, program participants, beneficiaries, and any individuals or entities interacting with the Foundation.
III. Policy Statement
The Foundation strictly prohibits discrimination and harassment in any form. All decisions and actions related to employment, governance, programming, partnerships, and services must be made without regard to any legally protected characteristic, including but not limited to:
● Race
● Color
● Sex (including pregnancy, childbirth, or related conditions)
● National origin
● Religion or creed
● Age
● Physical or mental disability
● Gender identity or expression
● Marital or familial status
● Sexual orientation
● Genetic information
● Political affiliation
● Union membership or labor activity
● Military or veteran status
● Citizenship or immigration status
● Any other status protected under applicable federal, state, or local law
This non-discrimination standard applies to all areas of operation, including but not limited to: hiring, compensation, benefits, promotion, training, termination, retirement, service delivery, procurement, and community engagement.
IV. Legal Compliance
The Foundation complies with all applicable federal, state, and local anti-discrimination laws, including but not limited to:
● Title VI and Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964
● The Civil Rights Act of 1991
● The Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA)
● The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)
● Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973
● Title IX of the Education Amendments Act of 1972
● The Genetic Information Nondiscrimination Act (GINA)
● The Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act (USERRA)
● The Washington Law Against Discrimination (RCW 49.60)
V. Commitment to Inclusion
The Foundation promotes an inclusive and respectful culture in which all individuals can contribute to our mission free from bias or barriers. We value diversity and believe it enhances our programs, decisions, and impact.
VI. Reporting, Investigation & Non-Retaliation
Any individual who believes they have experienced or witnessed discrimination, harassment, or retaliation is encouraged to report the concern to the Executive Director or a designated compliance officer. All reports will be handled promptly, impartially, and with appropriate confidentiality.
The Foundation strictly prohibits retaliation against anyone who, in good faith, reports a concern, files a complaint, or participates in an investigation.
Corrective or disciplinary action will be taken where violations are substantiated, up to and including termination of employment or termination of affiliation with the Foundation.
VII. Policy Review and Amendment
This policy shall be reviewed annually by the Board of Directors and updated as necessary to reflect changes in applicable laws, best practices, and the evolving needs of the Foundation.
